Doing a Mitzvah, A Good Deed

My good friend Chan is running a wonderful contest on her blog. I tought I would reiterate my response here as well.

Being that Miss Sunshine was just diagnosed with PDD-NOS, we are selecting a new charity. I am thinking Autism Speaks http://www.autismspeaks.org/ but perhaps more local, Autism Society of American, Philadelphia Chapter http://www.asaphilly.org/

Oh and to answer in your debate Chan, the is a difference in my mind between a charity and a non-profit as well. A youth group, a church, a school could all be non-profits. That doesn't mean they are charities trying to raise money for a cause.

Oh and chan also had this blog thing on her blog as well. Perfect for Thanksgiving :-)

You Are Apple Pie

You're the perfect combo of comforting and traditional.
You prefer things the way you've always known them.
You'll admit that you're old fashioned, and you don't see anything wrong with that.
Your tastes and preferences are classic. And classic never goes out of style.

Those who like you crave security.
People can rely on you to be true to yourself - and true to them.
You're loyal, trustworthy, and comfortable in your own skin.
And because of these qualities, you've definitely earned a lot of respect.

Okay, okay... I do see the difference with your illustration. The fire house might not really be a charity then, eh?

I hope you're having a wonderful time with your sister and the rest of your family!

That's what I meant! Not that the firehouse isn't worthy to donate time and do things with, just that kind of money raising difference, I guess :o
